Elegant Cable Management for Clean Environments
PROTUM® Series
Small, lightweight cable carriers for modern office, laboratory, and medical environments. No link wear, simple press-in cable installation, and an attractive design available in black, white, or silver gray make PROTUM the choice where aesthetics and cleanliness matter alongside engineering function.
Why Choose PROTUM® Series?
Zero Wear, Maximum Longevity
PROTUM uses a continuous side-band design with no conventional link connections. Without link-on-link contact, there is no progressive wear mechanism. This delivers exceptional service life in high-cycle applications — a key advantage for medical devices and laboratory automation that run continuously.
Tool-Free Cable Installation
Cables press directly into the carrier from above — no crossbar removal, no tools, no disassembly. This simplifies initial wiring and reduces service intervention time significantly. In environments where machine downtime is expensive, this is a practical operational benefit.
Designed to Be Seen
Available in matte black, clinical white, and silver gray, PROTUM integrates into the aesthetic language of modern precision equipment. Medical imaging devices, laboratory instruments, and office automation benefit from cable management that looks as considered as the rest of the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does PROTUM require a trough or guide channel?
PROTUM can be used with or without a guide channel depending on the travel length and additional load. For short travels with light cables, free-moving operation is often sufficient. For longer or heavier applications, Tsubaki's matching guide channels provide support.
Is PROTUM suitable for cleanroom use?
PROTUM's link-free design minimises particle generation compared to conventional link carriers. While it is not certified to ISO Class 1, it performs well in semi-clean environments. For ISO Class 1 certification, the CLEANVEYOR system is the appropriate choice.
Can I change cable routing after installation?
Yes. Cables can be pressed in and removed by hand without tools. This makes PROTUM very convenient for equipment that undergoes frequent cable configuration changes during its lifecycle.
